ZEUS the Dog needs a home
Zeus was found seriously injured in a field beside a busy highway. A good samaritan called us and told us about him. Some of our volunteers went out to see and found he couldn't walk and was in severe pain. Took him to the vet and found his pelvis to be fractured in multiple places. His treatment was to be confined in a small area. He was brought into foster care and had to be moved with a sling for about 2 weeks until he managed to start getting up on his own. He stayed 8 weeks in a kennel and finally he was able to walk well enough to move into a yard. Despite his terrible pain he was such a good boy tolerating his foster mom moving him about. He is friendly, sweet, very affectionate and welcomes strangers with a wagging tail. He is a little bossy with his food around other dogs even though he gets along well with females. He is a large boy weighing around 85 lbs and would be better in a home without children. He doesn't seem to have any serious after effects of his injury, just a small limp especially when he first gets up from lying down for awhile. He is such a good boy and deserves a great home. Zeus is not good with cats, but he gets along well with most dogs, particularly females. He is house trained, crated trained, and walks well on a leash. He is mostly fond of women, but he does like men as well. A single woman looking for a loving companion that will also deter any thoughts of trespassing on their property would find Zeus a good choice. Even though he might just wag his tail and welcome a stranger, his looks will make someone think twice at doing anything wrong.
